The ChainStay is located in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes in the district of Bevere within the city of Oudenaarde in East Flanders.
We are 1km from the train station, 2kms from the city center which boasts numerous shops, restaurants, and cafes, a summer beer festival, the Tour of Flanders museum, numerous food shops, and most importantly we are centrally located to some awesome training roads (from the hills of the Flemish Ardennes, to the flat vehicle free canal roads.

While there are no requirements to stay at The ChainStay, our cycling development house is set up for cyclists and cycling enthusiasts so we recommend that you at least have some passion to be around the sport. The large majority of guests are racing cyclists aged 18-30, though we have had masters level racers, and tourists. Guests can stay for any length of time that they wish, though we typically do not have short term availability (less than 10 days) during our peak period in the middle of the summer (but you’ll never know, just check our Availability page or send us an email).

Whole house bookings are an option at The ChainStay and give a large group or team full use to the house without sharing the house or amenities we provide with other guests.

PLEASE contact us ahead of time to ensure we can accommodate your request as it is sometimes very hard to have whole house bookings during certain parts of the year without booking well in advance. Summer months are our most busy, along with the Kerstperiod for cyclocross.

Rates are variable depending on the time of year and length of the booking, but do include exclusive use of our 9 person van and team car with 7 bike roof rack. We’ve been told our rates are very competitive and good value compared with other options available for large groups.

If you are arriving by plane, more than likely you will be landing in Brussels Zaventem. From the airport you can take a direct train from the airport to Oudenaarde which leaves every hour during regular schedule days and every other hour on weekends and holidays. You can find all the information you need on the SNCB Belgian Rail website or use their app.

If you are traveling by car we are located just off of the N60 reachable via the E17 South via the E40 from Oostende or E40 from Brussels.

Pick up or drop off from the airport must be arranged ahead of time for a fee of €120 euros.

Drivers must be 21 years of age or older with a valid and fully certified drivers license. The van seats 9 and priority is given to guests who are traveling to a race over errands/day trips. The vehicle is not typically available for overnight trips or trips to major cities (where parking can be difficult due to height restrictions).
