It’s over. Gregg has finished the Koppenberg 24 today and completed 82 accents of the Koppenberg in 24 hours. He’s going to have a blog post up soon enough about the whole craziness, but we just wanted to give you the quick low down on what he did.
Those 82 times up the Koppenberg means Gregg rode 5904 meters (19,370 feet) of vertical gain. What is more impressive is the fact all the climbing was done over the hardest cobbled climb in Flanders. Speaking of cobbles, his ride took him over 172km of riding (107 miles) of which he did 45.1 km (28 miles) of cobbles, all climbing.
You can see Gregg’s ride on Strava in Part 1/2 and Part 2/2. There are two missing laps in part 1 and half an accent in part 2.
We would like to thank everyone who donated to this fundraiser. We were able to raise over €500 euros for the house which we are going to be using towards buying some extra wheelsets for guests to use. Thanks so much for the help everyone.
82 trips up…..you’re a beast, Gregg. Congrats!!! Watching Flanders on tv this year wasn’t nearly the same as being there on the course with you guys.
